INTERPRETATION AND ELEMENTS OF BISHOP CLEMENT'S COAT OF ARMS:

 

Silver to white in the shield Peace and Sincerity

The Celtic cross (Ionic cross) = has its roots in a pre-Christian variation of the solar cross. Examples of the Celtic cross date back as far as 5000 years BC. Its origins are not known, but it was known to be an early symbol of the sun god Taranis. After the conversion of the Celtic people to Christianity, the Celtic cross became an emblem of the Celtic Christian Church, and reminds us of that beginning.

The white Dove wings spread over the earth = The Holy Spirit loving constancy and peace to All. (Jesus Lord of All)

The Gold Radient cross = The cross to remind us of the sufferings of Christ, the gold color to also remind of the riches he has given All of us by doing so. (Jesus Lord of All)

The two different colored hands = repersent All the different people to be served. (Jesus Lord of All)

The globe with continuous lines = The earth as one or All as in inclusive. (Jesus Lord of All)

 Wavy Line = Sea and water unsettled, troubles keep us in continuous exercise and reminders of divine providence.

 The Knights Templar = The Poor Fellow-Soldiers of Christ and of the Temple of Solomon (Latin: Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Solomonici), popularly known as the Knights Templar, was one of the most famous of the Christian military orders. Our Bishop Andre  is member and Past Commander of Holy Sepulcher Commandery #8, Knight Templar of the Appendent orders of Massachusetts and Rhode Island located in the Asylum of Pawtucket Rhode Island. 

The Templars were an unusual order in that they were both monks and soldiers, making them in effect some of the earliest "warrior monks" in the Western world

It is also known as the Maltese Cross adopted by firefighters universally, Our Bishop Andre is a retired firefighter of the Woonsocket Fire Dept., in Woonsocket, RI serving as full time firefighter 1970-1987 when he retired on disability.

After the conversion of the Celtic people to Christianity, the Celtic cross became an emblem of the Celtic Christian Church and was adopted by the Reformed catholic church International as their emblem.

 The Eye of Providence or the all-seeing eye = is a symbol showing an eye surrounded by rays of light or a glory, and usually enclosed by a triangle. It is commonly interpreted as representing the eye of God keeping watch on humankind.

 The bound wheat= The harvest of One’s hopes being secured. (Our Hope is in God) which the Bishop has elected as his Shield's Motto. and is the Motto of the Knight Templars, In Hoc Signo Winces.

 The blue lion = blue for truth and loyalty also the loyalty of the sea. The lion dauntless courage, bravery, strength, ferocity and valor; holding the patriarchal cross adds the leadership in hierarchical churches or religious bodies. Also our bishop's first name Andre is also interpreted as lion hearted.
